Assistant Administrator – Compliance Security Operations

Ron serves as the Assistant Administrator for Compliance, a role he assumed on May 18, 2026. Prior to his official appointment, Ron served as Acting Assistant Administrator for Compliance beginning on Sunday, June 1, 2025. In this capacity, Ron oversees Compliance’s Domestic Operations, Cybersecurity, and Oversight Divisions.
Previously, Ron was the Deputy Assistant Administrator for Surface Operations, where he worked closely with the five Regional Security Directors to ensure and align surface transportation security priorities across the four modes of land-based transportation: mass transit, freight rail, highway motor carrier, and pipeline.
Before joining TSA, Ron served as Chief of Police for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority/Metro Transit Police Department. Over a career spanning more than 26 years, he held leadership positions in patrol, operations, administration, and other areas, ultimately being sworn in as Chief of Police in 2013.
Ron is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (222nd session), the FBI National Executive Institute, and the Leaders in Police Organizations program through the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He is also a military veteran, having served nearly eight years in the U.S. Army, with assignments in Germany, Korea, and Operation Desert Storm with the 1st Cavalry Division.
